My father passed away around midnight July 2, 2003. Even though he was 94 it was totally unexpected. We had had a fairly full day; breakfast at the Voorheesville Diner, lunch at the Turf Inn, an afternoon walk, a light supper. I bid him good night around 9:30 PM (he was in bed, but smiled and said good night). When I stopped back at 12 midnight he was already gone.
Don Jr. arrived Monday July 21
Donald R. Van Cleve Sr's Cremation date was on July 24, 2003.
Memorial service was August 2, 2003 Saturday at St. Andrews Church at the intersection of Main St and Madison Ave. in Albany, NY (Just above the College of Saint Rose).
We plan to place his and Moms ashes at the National Cemetary in Saratoga, NY. A place of Historical significance that we had visited together in the past (and as a veteran of WWII he and mom have a place at).
Don Jr went back to LA Aug 17, 2003.
Don Jr came again in October and Again at Christmas.
Don Jr. plans to visit again in May to help with spring planting. Don usually visits several times during the year to help out on the farm. We grow ornamental flowering shrubs for sale (more information about that on my home page).
